Audience: Bilingual employees/staff, new aspiring or working freelance/contract interpreters interested in community, educational or healthcare services e.g., hospitals and clinics, schools and colleges, family planning, domestic violence, housing, senior centers etc.
Training Specifics: This program offers an overview of the interpreting profession, the process of the interpreting session and interactive hands-on role play. It focuses on the foundation of interpreting ethics and professionalism to help you become successful in the field of interpreting.

90-minute written test

The Community Interpreter®
This course also requires proof of passing a language proficiency assessment. Language proficiency testing, (for spoken languages) or proof of language proficiency evaluation by a reputable organization must be provided. A separate fee ($75 - $110) may be incurred.
